New Delhi: Seven Indian institutions including IIT Delhi, IISc Bangalore and IIT Bombay have secured their positions in the latest Global Employability University Ranking and Survey (GEURS) report released by the Times Higher Education (THE) for the 2022 session.
As per the Global Employability University Rankings 2022, three Indian colleges made the top 100 list of the rankings: IIT Delhi came in at 29th rank, IISc Bangalore came in at 58th rank, and IIT Bombay secured its72 position in the rankings.
Apart from this, other universities that have earned spots in the top 250 Global Employability University Ranking include the Indian Institute of Management, IIT Kharagpur, Amity University, and Bangalore University.
Similar to last year, the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) placed first globally in this year's rankings. Harvard University and California Institute of Technology are placed in second and third rank respectively. These three institutions have held the top three spots in the same order for the past two years.

In the rankings, Stanford University is still in fifth place, while the University of Cambridge has been placed in fourth rank. The University of Oxford moved up this year, from eighth to the sixth position. However, the University of Tokyo from Japan dropped its rankings this year from sixth to the seventh position.
Additionally, Princeton University moved up from tenth to ninth, while the National University of Singapore climbed from ninth to eighth rank. However, Yale University has drastically dropped in standing from seventh in 2021 to tenth this year.
This year, there are a total of six universities are from the US, two from the UK, one from Japan and one from Singapore. Nevertheless, the ranking includes institutes from 44 nations such as China, France, India, Spain, South Korea, Germany, and Israel.
In addition, mainland Chinese universities are steadily moving up the rankings thanks to their strengths in graduate skills and work experience. Spain has climbed the most in Europe during the past two years. But the Florida Institute of Technology has advanced the most this year, moving up 76 places.
The survey discovered that since the Covid-19 outbreak, digital skills have risen to the top of the list for companies. Graduate skills are the second most significant determinant of performance, closely followed by topic specialisation and professional experience.
