: IIT Delhi to Introduce M.Tech in Robotics

New Delhi: IIT Delhi has developed an innovative interdisciplinary university programme called "MTech. in Robotics." There will be 25 places available in this course, and candidates will be admitted using the GATE, a coding exam, and an interview.

The Yardi School of Artificial Intelligence, the IIT Delhi’s Department of Computer Science & Engineering, the Department of Electrical Engineering, the Department of Mechanical Engineering, and the Center of Excellence on Biologically Inspired Robotics and Drones will collaboratively provide the two-year curriculum (CoE-BIRD).

The robotics discipline includes today's technology, and interest in it is expanding quickly globally. Robotics somehow doesn't fit well into any one established engineering subject.

Students enrolled in the Master of Technology in Robotics programme at IIT Delhi will receive a multidisciplinary education that will equip them with the knowledge and skills necessary to design novel, smart systems and products that will help solve current problems in the creation of robotic platforms and applications.

The curriculum is set up to emphasise both solid academic grounding and experience learning. Several industries, particularly health care, rehabilitation, mobility, energy production, environmental protection, and, the, advancing industrialisation, can benefit from the employment of robotic technology.

The M.Tech. programme consequently supports the following four specialisations in cooperative robotics, Industrial robots, Robotics in medicine & rehabilitation & Self-driving and intelligent vehicles.

The creation of advanced robotics and systems need a wide range of abilities. It poses basic problems concerning intricate and dynamic systems, sensing and automated operation, physical simulation, and control, and makes an effort to provide answers.

While the robotics-centered automation business has been expanding at a phenomenal rate both worldwide and in India, there is clearly a shortage of professionals skilled in this field.

There is a very evident void that the institute's recently introduced M. Tech. degree in robotics can help close, according to Prof. Subodh Kumar, a professor at the IIT Delhi Department of Computer Science & Engineering and Coordinator, CoE- BIRD.

Moreover, IIT Delhi does have a non-profit Section 8 firm on Cobotics (i.e., IHFC), in which more than 50 faculty members from the institution take part. The DST, Government of India, assisted in the establishment of the business. The MTech. programme in robotics was started as a result of this.
