IIT Goa PhD Admission 2022 Open; Last Date to Apply is May 04, 2022

New Delhi: IIT Goa is currently accepting applications for its PhD programme for the academic year 2022-23. Aspiring candidates can submit the online application form through the official portal, iitgoa.ac.in.

IIT Goa offers PhD in five specialisations that include Chemical & Material Science, Electrical Science, Mathematics & Computer Science, Mechanical Science and Physical Science. Candidates seeking admission to the programme can submit their applications till May 04, 2022.

For admission to PhD programmes of IIT Goa, applicants must hold a master's degree in the relevant discipline with a minimum of 60% aggregate marks. Candidates are selected on the basis of a written exam, which is followed by an interview round.

IIT Goa PhD Admission 2022: Highlights 

Meeting the minimum eligibility criteria do not ensure a candidate's selection for the admissions test and interview. The admission committee's decision will be considered for the final merit list.

IIT Goa will also provide off-campus hostel accommodation to all students enrolling in the PhD programme at IIT Goa. 

IIT Goa PhD Admission 2022: Eligibility Criteria

Engineering Streams

• Master’s degree in engineering/ technology or an equivalent degree with a minimum of 60% or 6.0 CGPA.
• Candidates who have completed B.Tech/ M.Sc. in engineering/ technology or equivalent with 70% or equivalent CGPA can also apply.

IIT B.Tech. and M.Tech. Degree Holders

• Candidates having a B.Tech. or M.Tech. degree from IITs with a minimum CGPA of 8 are eligible to apply under TA or TAP positions through written test and/or interview.

Science Streams

• Master’s degree in science with 60% or 6.0 CGPA

Note: SC/ ST candidates will get a relaxation of 5% marks in the qualifying exam.

Candidates must additionally fulfil any of the following in addition to the educational requirements listed above:

• Valid GATE score in a relevant stream.
• JRF of CSIR/ UGC/ NBHM/ DBT/ ICAR/ ICMR/ ICPR Fellowship in the relevant streams.
• Aspirants should have a minimum of 2 years of professional experience in the relevant field.

IIT Goa PhD Admission 2022: Selection Process

• Candidates need to appear for an interview round. For some specializations, a written test can be used in addition to the interview.
• The institute will shortlist students based on their performance in the qualifying test and other exams such as GATE, depending on the course.
• A final merit list will be published based on the candidate's performance in the interview and qualifying exam. .

IIT Goa PhD Admission 2022: How to Apply?

• Visit the official application portal of IIT Goa, at, iitgoa.ac.in.
• Register yourself after filling in the required details, such as email and branch applying for and then click on the submit button.
• Now, log in with your registration credentials and fill in all details in the Application form.
• Pay the application fee of INR 100 (INR 50 for SC/ST/PwD/EWS/ Female Candidates) and submit the Application form. 
• Applicants must also take a printout of the form for all future needs.
