IIT Guwahati Civil Engineering Placements

New Delhi: The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Guwahati has successfully concluded its placement for the civil engineering department, where it recorded the highest number of 218 pre-placement offers (PPOs) in the past four years in academic year 2022-23.

During the IIT Guwahati Placements, the highest pre-placement offer stood at INR 1.20 crore, which was an all-time highest offer. The Phase 1 of placements saw a whooping of 919 offers with the highest offer of INR 2.4 crore.

IIT Guwahati Placement Packages

The institute witnessed a total of 168 offers from 46 firms including two overseas offers. The highest domestic offer was for INR 1.1 crore, while the highest international offer was for INR 2.4 crore.

These offers were made for a variety of engineering job profiles, including those in software development, data science, mathematics, core engineering, user experience design, VLSI, vehicle engineering, analyst, and product design, among others.

IIT Guwahati Five-year Placement Statistics (CE)

The average salary for BTech graduates in the department of civil engineering has dropped from INR 22 lakh per year in 2021 to INR 17 lakh per year in 2022. Moreover, both the overall number of offers and the percentage of students who were placed declined from 79 to 59 (for both categories). However, in 2021 the average salary had significantly grown to INR 22 lakh from Rs 13 lakh in 2020. Together with an increase from 53 to 73 for the overall number of students, the total number of offers increased from 51 to 79.

Earlier, the average salary in 2018 was 13 lakh per annum when 47 offers were made, which increased to INR 16 lakh per annum and 81 offers in 2019.

IIT Guwahati Overall Placement

Despite an increase in the annual intake of students, the majority of the registered BTech in Civil Engineering students are placed, with an average of placed students above 63% in the last five years. There were 79 registered BTech in Civil Engineering students.

Five years back, the average CTC of BTech in Civil Engineering students' was INR 16 LPA; this year, it is INR 17 LPA. The placement process is still in its second phase. The highest package for BTech in Civil Engineering students is often over 32 LPA, and the highest package from the previous year was 72 LPA. IIT Guwahati Internship Offers & Packages

Over the years, there has been a tremendous increase in the number of internship offers for students of different disciplines, including Civil Engineering. This increasing trend is also reflected in the increased number of PPOs.

Earlier in 2022-23, the number of internship offered to the students of BTech Civil Engineering were 15, and the highest package for internship was recorded at INR 1.6 lakh.

The BTech students were hired in a variety of core, technical, and non-technical areas. Almost all of the biggest employers from India and abroad participated and hired IIT Guwahati students.

Some of the prominent recruiters during the placements include Larsen & Toubro Ltd, Schlumberger, Piramal, TVS R&D and GAIL. Surprisingly, many MNCs, including Goldman Sachs, Accenture, Apple, Microsoft, Wells Fargo, Oracle, Amazon, Fractal Analytics, Cisco, and Samsung, are open to other branches due to the academic preparation of IIT Guwahati students. Several students minor in various fields, which is beneficial for their placements.
