IIT Guwahati Partners with Coursera to Offer 3 New PG Certificate Programmes

New Delhi: Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Guwahati has partnered with Coursera to offer 3 new postgraduate (PG) certificate programmes. The application process for these certificate programmes is open, and the deadline to submit the application form is till September 21, 2022. 

In collaboration with Coursera, IIT Guwahati has launched these 3 new PG Certificate programmes in Cloud Computing Applications, Deep Learning for Computer Vision and XR and UX Design and HCI. Candidates aspiring to pursue these certificate programmes can apply till September 21, 2022.

As of November 2021, 10% of all occupations in India were tied to the cloud, and there were 3 lakh active job seekers. However, by the end of 2022, the Indian cloud market is predicted to have grown by 26%.

According to the institute, Candidates will benefit from the program's expertise in creating, organising, and scaling Cloud implementations. The students must master a number of fundamental skill sets to create and deploy dynamically scalable apps on the three well-known cloud platform providers AWS, Microsoft Azure, and GCP. 

The certificate programme will help in the professional development of IT specialists, project managers, tech company managers, data experts, programmers, and cloud developers.

Candidates must possess a bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline, as well as a basic knowledge of mathematics at the high school level, algorithms, and C/C++ programming.

IIT Guwahati PG Certificate Programme 2022: Deep Learning for Computer Vision and XR

By 2024, the job market for machine learning jobs is expected to be worth 31 billion US dollars, growing at a 40% annual rate over the previous six years.

The institute stated that the PG Certificate in Deep Learning for Computer Vision and XR has been designed to assist students in using deep learning techniques in the field of computer vision and XR. 

The programme will enable the participants to build and implement AR/VR systems utilising the Unity game engine and SDKs on both desktop and mobile platforms.

IIT Guwahati PG Certificate Programme 2022: Eligibility

Students interested in computer graphics, machine learning, human vision, and computational imaging. This programme will be of interest to anyone with an interest in innovative imaging technologies and computational approaches for applications in VR/AR, entertainment and electronic gaming, robotic assisted technologies, etc.

IIT Guwahati PG Certificate Programme 2022: UX Design and HCI

According to CNN Money, the demand for UX designers will increase by 13% from 2017 to 2027. With the help of user-centric approaches, this PG Certificate in UX Design and HCI will empower professionals with the skills needed to develop practical, usable, and compelling digital experiences.

IIT Guwahati PG Certificate Programme 2022: Eligibility

Candidates interested in creating outstanding digital experiences, including graphic designers, front-end developers, UX researchers, marketing experts, can apply for this course.

The institute revealed that having a basic understanding of programmes like Figma, Adobe XD, Balsamic, and Miro is preferred, but not mandatory. 

Upon successful completion of the certificate programmes, the participants will receive certificates directly from the Centre for Education Technology, IIT Guwahati. The participants will also be able to attend live and interactive sessions with direct feedback from the faculty.

The institute notified the students that the certificate programme would assist them in their acquisition of fundamental knowledge in each of the application domains. They will be able to learn by participating in projects, online laboratories, and use cases as part of a practitioner's curriculum. 

In addition, it will also allow the candidates a chance to interact with and learn from peers who have already enrolled in the programme and are located in countries such as the United States, Canada, Australia, etc.
