IIT-ISM Dhanbad PhD(JRF) Admission 2022 Open; Apply Till May 6

New Delhi: IIT-ISM Dhanbad has begun the application process for admission into PhD (JRF) program for the academic session 2022-24. Aspiring candidates can submit the online application form through the official portal, @iitism.ac.in. Candidates seeking admission to the programme can submit their applications till May 6, 2022. 

ISM Dhanbad offers a full-time PhD (JRF) programs for a minimum duration of 4 years in various specialisations that include Engineering, Science, Humanities and Social Sciences, and Management. 

According to IIT-ISM Admission 2022, candidates must have passed master's degree in any discipline with GATE /NET /CAT /GMAT or other appropriate entrance examinations with a valid score to be eligible for PhD admissions.

The institute provides Institute Assistantship (IA) to the deserving and eligible candidates qualified through the selection process and, therefore, providing ample opportunities for carrying out research leading to the Ph.D. degree course. 

Financial assistantships are offered to full-time Ph. D. students who have a valid GATE score or a valid score in any other eligible national level examination in the form of teaching or research assistantships. 

IIT-ISM Dhanbad PhD Admission 2022: Eligibility Criteria

Candidates seeking admissions into the PhD program must note that the eligibility criteria for each specialisation vary and that they are required to meet the basic eligibility criteria which are mentioned below. 

• Candidates must have qualified for GATE /NET /CAT /GMAT or other appropriate entrance examinations with a valid score. 
• Candidates must have an adequate knowledge of the English language. 
• Candidates must hold a master’s degree in Engineering/Science/ Arts, Commerce, Humanities and Social Sciences/ Management, with relevant subjects with first class/division or at least 60% marks/CGPA of 6.0 (on a 10 point scale),OR
• Candidates must have a bachelor’s degree in Engineering/Science/ Arts, Commerce, Humanities and Social Sciences/ Management, with a minimum of 70% marks/CGPA of 7.0 (on a 10 point scale), OR
• Candidates must hold a master’s degree in science or an allied area with first-class/division or a minimum of 60% marks/CGPA of 6.0 (on a 10 point scale).

ISM Dhanbad PhD Admission 2022: Selection Process

• Candidate's selection to the PhD program depends on the number of vacancies and their academic performances. 
• The department may adopt an appropriate criteria for shortlisting the candidates applied for the Ph.D. program in the respective discipline. 
• The interview will be conducted for all the shortlisted candidates for the selection to the Ph.D. program. 
• Final selection of the candidates for admission to the Ph.D. program will be based on their performances in the interview conducted by the respective departments. 

IIT-ISM Dhanbad PhD Admission 2022: How to Apply?

Step 1: Visit the official application portal of ISM Dhanbad @iitism.ac.in. 

Step 2: Register yourself after filling the required details, such as Mobile number, Email Id etc.

Step 3: Now, login with your registration credentials and fill all details in the Application form.

Step 4: Pay the application fee of INR 1000 (general/OBC/EWS) and INR 500 (SC/ST/PCfemale) online and submit the Application form. 

Step 5: Applicants must also take a print out of the form for all future needs.
