IIT Kanpur eMasters in Power Sector Regulation Admission 2023 Open; Apply till November 12

New Delhi: IIT Kanpur is inviting applications for admission to its eMasters programme in Power Sector Regulation, Economics, and Management. Interested candidates need to apply before November 12, 2022.

The Department of Industrial and Management Engineering (IME), Department of Electrical Engineering (EE), and Department of Economic Sciences at IIT Kanpur created this executive-friendly programme. Working professionals have the option of finishing the programme in one to three years. The 60-credit, 12-module programme is "industry-focused," according to IIT Kanpur's world-class academics and researchers.

According to the institute, "the extensive and continuously updated programme teaches professionals in developing a conceptual understanding of the power industry from a perspective of engineering, economics, and regulation."

By including relevant engineering, economic, legal, and environmental aspects, the courses led by national and international specialists offer a holistic grasp of the ideas and difficulties in the power sector. The learners are helped to comprehend the concepts and come up with answers for problems they may face in real life by the Regulatory Capstone Project and the mini-projects, it said.

As India gears up to overtake the United States as the third-largest energy consumer by 2030, IIT Kanpur claimed that the programme will be useful for professionals working in both the regulatory and commercial aspects of generation, transmission, and distribution as well as trading, financing, and the manufacturing of equipment, among other industries.

The eMasters programme is taught using live, interactive classes that are only offered on the weekends together with self-paced learning. The programme also provides access to the alumni network, incubation cell, and placement cell of IIT Kanpur, paving the route for effective career progression and networking opportunities.

Power sector disruptions have occurred during the past few years as a result of policy, finances, laws, tariffs, and other factors, according to Anoop Singh from the Department of Industrial and Management Engineering at IIT Kanpur. By bridging the knowledge gap between the sector and new technical advancements or policy needs, this eMasters programme keeps experts up to date on advances in the Power Sector subject. This special programme provides practical training, boosting a professional's learning all around. The 12 modules are created based on requirements from the industry, assisting them in developing interdisciplinary competence to be successfully decisive in this quick-changing technological world.
