IIT Kanpur SIIC Joined Hands with Microsoft to Support Startups; Details Here

New Delhi: The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kanpur's Startup Incubation and Innovation Centre (SIIC), a technology startup incubator, has partnered with Microsoft to introduce the "Azure Society of Excellence." To start the programme, the two businesses have signed a Memorandum of Understanding.

As part of the programme, SIIC of IIT Kanpur and Microsoft will collaborate to provide mentorship, employment chances, and entrepreneurial opportunities to startups. The programme will also give participants access to SIIC's future-ready startups' talent-employability initiative, "Founder's Hub."

The MoU will enable startups at IIT Kanpur to take advantage of Microsoft services, resources from GitHub and M365, and training and skill development on Azure. They will also get a mentor network that includes exclusive access to Microsoft leadership and advice from startup founders, Microsoft Valuable Professionals (MVP), and Azure Influencers.

Under this collaboration, Microsoft Mentor Network will provide their assistance in providing professional evaluation and counsel on a variety of subjects, including business strategies, product roadmaps, and facetime with high-value VCs.

As part of the initiative, the institute's entrepreneurs will also have access to adaptable, scalable resources like GitHub API Integration, scheduled in-person/online sessions, and trips to the Microsoft Tech Center in Bengaluru for tech value demonstrations.

Additionally, they have access to Microsoft ISVs, or Independent Software Vendors, as well as chances to collaborate with Microsoft and list on the Microsoft Marketplace.

"We are happy to cooperate with SIIC, IITK, which will further enhance our respective startup acceleration initiatives to provide an environment with the proper support and structures and enable innovators to scale faster," said Himani Agrawal, Country Head, Azure, Microsoft India.
