JSL includes a coal-based power plant and gets coal from all around the world. If the organisation gains better expertise in the selection of coal on apt parameters, storage and handling of the coal, pulverising and efficient combustion of mixed coal as a recipe will provide a lot of value creation. The pact is aiming towards these goals.

JSL and IIT-ISM Dhanbad will also jointly work to find effective solutions for multiple technological and operational challenges faced by JSL.
