ISI Admission Test is a national level exam held once a year by ISI Kolkata to offer admission into various programmes such as B Stat (Hons), B Math (Hons), M Stat, M Math, MS (QE), MS (QMS), MS (LIS), M Tech (CS), M Tech (CrS), M Tech (QROR), PG Diplomas, and Research Fellowships. Admission to ISI Kolkata is granted solely on the basis of the written exam results.

The ISI admission test syllabus differs for each programme offered. The UG course syllabus will include a variety of topics from 11th and 12th grade. Whereas the syllabus of PG courses will include a variety of topics from related undergraduate courses.

ISI Admission Test 2022: Exam Pattern

The ISI Admission Test exam pattern changes depending on the course a candidate chooses. The pattern, however, remains the same for the first exam. 

  • Most courses require the applicant to take two exams. Whereas one test comprises only objective type questions, the other contains only descriptive type questions.
  • Part 1 is a compulsory section that will consist of MCQs in Maths at the UG level. It will consist of 30 questions of 120 marks for a duration of 2 hours.
  • Part 2 differs depending on the discipline chosen. It will be descriptive questions.
  • The exam will be held in offline mode.

ISI Admission Test 2022: Guidelines

  • Candidates must be at the testing centre 30 minutes before the exam begins.
  • The photo and signature on the admit card must be clearly visible.
  • The ISI admission card 2022 cannot be transferred. Any candidate who is found to be at fault will be denied entry to the test venue.
  • Each applicant is required to provide the original photo identity card provided on the admit card.
  • Wristwatches, calculators, mobile phones, and other electronic communication, storage, and photographic/scanning devices are not permitted in the exam.

ISI will follow hygiene-related measures recommended by the Government of India to safeguard the applicants' health and safety. Candidates must wear a face mask for the entire duration of the test unless they are requested to remove it for identification purposes. It is also expected from the candidates to follow cleanliness rules in order to protect their personal safety and health.
