Jadavpur University Reopening 2021: Jadavpur University (JU) has announced that schools, libraries, offices and departments will be reopened from January 4, 2021, for staff members.
As per the notification issued by Jadavpur University (JU) on Monday, December 28, 2020, the institute will be open during the working days between 10 am to 5:30 pm from January 04, 2021. Additionally, the university department head will maintain a record of staff attendance.

Departments faced forced closure from the middle of March this year due to the coronavirus pandemic. Authorities at Jadavpur University have asked all members of the faculty and the staff to attend office three times a week, during the official work hours: 10 AM to 5:30 PM.
It is notified that all offices, sections, departments, schools, and libraries of Jadavpur University will remain open on all working days on & from 4th Jan 2021. University of Calcutta had also issued the same circular on December 3, 2020, demanding a maximum of 70% attendance of its staff in all offices and departments from 2021. Accordingly, a roster recording everyone’s attendance needs to be maintained.
“Though most of the faculty and officials attended the university, the decision will now mean that even other staffers have to be regular,” said a teacher from JU.
