Jamia Millia Islamia Receives A++ in NAAC Review; Secures 3.61 CGPA; Read Details Here


Jamia Millia Islamia has been ranked A++ in the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) review of 2021. The rank review was conducted from December 06, 2021, to December 08, 2021. 

As per the NAAC Review 2021 released, Jamia Millia Islamia has secured a cumulative grade point average (CGPA) of 3.61. With the high CGPA, the institute has secured the highest NAAC grade points. 

As per the review released, A++grade is the highest grade allotted by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC). The grades are allotted based on various parameters, including research, infrastructure, learning resources, evaluation among others. 

Importance of NAAC Accreditation While Choosing University

Based on the graduate points accumulated by the HEIs, they are further accredited with grades based on their CGPA. The grade of A++ is accreditation for CGPA between 3.51 to 4. The institutes that secure less than 3.51 scores by NAAC are accredited with A+ grades. 

Jamia Millia Islamia Fees Structure

Referring to the NAAC Ranking, JMI Vice-Chancellor Professor Najma Akhtar said: "This milestone for the university reflects the sheer hard work and untiring effort by all members of the university including the teachers, non-teaching staff, students, and alumni”.

“I personally extend my deep gratitude to all of them and hope that we will not only maintain this grading in the future but will also keep on working hard to improve our performance in academic, research, and other areas,” JMI Vice-Chancellor said. 

According to the statement released on Tuesday, December 14, 2021, the officials stated that the grade points are allotted to all University Grants Commission (UGC) approved universities and higher education institutes. 

Earlier, in the very first NAAC Grade cycle of the year 2015, the Jamia Millia Islamia has secured a rank of A based on its overall score. The rankings have now been increased to A++ with the university’s efforts and one-of-a-kind education facilities. 

To improve its overall rankings and education facilities, the Jamia Millia Islamia University has spent a budget of over Rs 26 lakh. The budget has been spent on various development projects as well as the upgrade of facilities on the campus ground.
