JIPMER Counselling 2020: Post Basic Diploma In Nursing Counselling Started; Details Here


October 23, 2020JIPMER started the first counselling session for Post Basic Diploma (PBD) in Nursing Course Admission 2020-2021. The Information brochure for first-round online counselling sessions is now available for candidates to check on the official website of JIPMER.

The registration for the first online counselling round for Post Basic Diploma (PBD) in Nursing Course Admission 2020-2021 has started for eligible candidates at the Jawaharlal Institute of Post Graduate Medical Education and Research (JIPMER) website. 

A total of 19 seats are available for admission out of which 7 seats are reserved for the Critical Care Nursing Course, while 6 seats are available in the Cardio-Thoracic Nursing Course.

The remaining 6 seats are available for Operation Room Nursing Course. One seat in each course is reserved for graduates of the College of Nursing JIPMER.

Candidates who are seeking admission in Post Basic Diploma (PBD) in Nursing Course must pass the eligibility criteria of JIPMER. The Post Basic Diploma (PBD) in Nursing Entrance Exam Result for admission was made available on September 29, 2020. 

As per the result, students will be further selected for counselling sessions based on their marks. For candidates of UR, EWS, and Inst category, a minimum of 50 percent is required for the selection. 

For UR-PwD category students, 45 percent marks are required while for SC, ST, OBC-PWD category candidates need to have a minimum of 40 percent in order to seek admission in JIPMER. 

To participate in the admission process of the Jawaharlal Institute of Post Graduate Medical Education and Research (JIPMER), candidates need to apply for the first counselling round of the university. Candidates who failed to do so will not be considered for the following admission process.

JIPMER Post Basic Diploma In Nursing Counselling 2020: Admission Process

The Post Basic Diploma (PBD) in Nursing Course Admission process of Jawaharlal Institute of Post Graduate Medical Education and Research (JIPMER) is as follow:

Login: Eligible candidates need to register themselves for the online counselling and seat allotment process of JIPMER before the given deadline. The online registration for Post Basic Diploma in Nursing Admission 2020-21 was started on October 20, 2020. 

The admission portal was closed on October 21, 2020. Once logged in, students will have to confirm their choice of participating in the admission round. 

Document Upload: After the login, candidates need to upload the required document as per specialization on the official website of JIPMER. Documents required to submit are: 

  • Date of Birth Proof
  • Marksheet of the qualifying examination i.e, B.Sc Nursing/ Post-Basic B.Sc Nursing/Diploma in General Nursing and Midwifery
  • Degree Certificate
  • Community certificate/Economically Weaker Sections Certificate only if applicable
  • NOC from the employe if applicable
  • Experience Certificate if applicable 
  • Medical Certificate in case of PwD Candidate.

Choosing Preferences: Candidates need to select the course they wish to apply for. Candidates can choose up to three options for each course under Post Basic Diploma in Nursing. Selecting preferences needs to be done before the given deadline. 

After selecting the choices, candidates will have to register for the counselling session of JIPMER. If failed to do so, the system will automatically lock the choices for students. 

Document Verification: After filling up the counselling session, candidates have to complete the online document verification at the official website of JIPMER. Candidates need to re-upload the documents within the given time to complete their document verification process. 

Mock Counselling: Registered candidates will be allotted with seats on the basis of a merit list during the mock counselling session. The seats allocated to students during mock counselling are more likely to be allotted to candidates during the first counselling session. 

The seats allocated during the mock counselling session of JIPMER are not the final seats. The final seats will only be allocated to candidates during the first counselling round.

Locking Final Preferences: Candidates will be given a second chance to choose or edit their preferences selected during the choice preference selection. Students are advised to fill the final locking preferences with care. 

If students will not choose or edit their preferences, the system will lock their preferences based on first-choice preference selection. 

Allotted Seat Acceptance: Students who are allocated seats during the first counselling session of JIPMER need to select the allocated seats before the given deadline. Students do not have the option to not accept the allocated seats. 

To accept the seats, students need to login to the students portal of JIPMER and accept the seats allocated. If failed to do so, the candidates’ seat allotment process will be forfeited and canceled. 

Payment Process: After accepting the seat allocated to candidates, students need to complete the online payment processor to complete their admission. For Post Basic Diploma in Nursing, the admission fee to be made is INR 7600, along with the security deposit of INR 10,000. 

If candidates will not be able to complete the payment processor before the given time and date, their application will be considered Forfeiture and Ineligible.

Reporting to JIPMER: After the completion of the payment and seat allotment process, candidates have to report in person to JIPMER on the specified date and time. Students are advised to bring their original d certificates along with a copy for the verification process. 

Candidates of reserved categories such as EWSs-Economically weaker sections, OBC, Other backward class Non-creamy layer, SC- Scheduled Caste, ST-Scheduled Tribe, and PwD-Persons with Disability need to provide valid certifications in order to apply under reserved category. 

Candidates failed to provide valid certifications will only be considered under the unreserved category.
