JIPMER Issues Notice Warning of Fake Advertisements for Course Admission

The Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research (JIPMER) Puducherry has released a caution notice for candidates seeking admission via JIPMER entrance examinations. The notice states that admission to all undergraduate or postgraduate courses at the institute will be based on the merit list prepared after the entrance test.

Earlier, the institute announced the examination fee details for MS, MD, MCH, DM and PDF courses.

The notice also states that some groups are putting up advertisements on newspapers and social media that they can ensure admission to JIPMER if the candidates provide a certain amount of money to them. These are fake. The JIPMER PG is a prominent entrance examination that is given for admission to 124 Master of Surgery (MS) and Doctor of Medicine (MD) seats in the Puducherry campus.

In the official notice, JIPMER clarifies that they have not appointed any individual or organization to make any kind of admission assurance on their behalf. The institute does not charge any capitation fee for granting admission to students.

The notice warns candidates and parents to beware of such fraudulent agencies. However, if candidates try to get admission to JIPMER via these groups, they will be permanently barred from getting admission to the institute.

In 2008, JIPMER was upgraded to the status of Institute of National Importance. It offers courses such as MBBS, MD/MS, MDS, B.Sc, M.Sc, DM/M.Ch and other medical courses. Check Courses and Fees.
