JIPMER MBBS 2020 Exam Cancelled; Admission Only Through NEET, Check Details Here


JIPMER MBBS 2020 exam has been cancelled for the admission in MBBS course in JIPMER, Puducherry and JIPMER, Karaikal.

As per recent updates, MHRD has officially declared that the admission for 2020 session in JIPMER, Puducherry and JIPMER, Karaikal will now be based on NEET 2020 exam results.

The statement was made by MHRD in Lok Sabha in which the ministry answered 6 questions and confirmed that as per Section 14 of the National Medical Commission Act, 2019, NEET is to be the only entrance exam for UG medical admission in the colleges and institutes in India.

Every year around 2 lakhs candidate appears for the JIPMER entrance exam, While for NEET, around 15-16 lakhs appear.

JIPMER has a total of 200 MBBS seats combining its Pundcherry campus (150) and Karaikal campus (50) Separate entrance examination will not be conducted for the MBBS course in Puducherry and Karaikal campus. 

Out of 51 reserved seats, 6 seats are reserved for overseas students (OCI) and non-resident Indians (NRI). 45 seats are reserved for students from the union territory of Puducherry.
