JMI Hosts a Global Webinar Titled

New Delhi: The Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI) hosted an international virtual conference titled "E-Literature: Explorations in Literary Creativity." The online session took place on January 16 and January 17, 2023. The webinar featured an amazing roster of experts and paper speakers from India and many other countries.

This JMI event discussed the methodological, epistemological, and narrative components of E-lit, as well as opening up new paths for discourse on these topics. In addition, it sparked the interest and enthusiasm of numerous E-lit practitioners and academics from around the globe.

The official department head, Professor Mukesh Ranjan, offered the welcoming address, while the dean of the Faculty of Humanities and Languages, Professor Mohammad Ishaque, provided the opening statement. 

Dr. Shimi Moni Doley, of the Department of English at JMI, outlined the subject of the webinar. Professor Leonardo Flores, former head of the Electronic Literature Organization and chair of the English department at Appalachian State University in Boone, North Carolina, presented the keynote lecture.

The valedictory talk was made by Professor Astrid Ensslin, Professor of Digital Cultures and Communication at the University of Regensburg in Germany. She remarked on the innovative quality of this event, which will go a fair distance toward defining the area of Electronic Literature in India in the coming years.

Professor Simi Malhotra, head of the Department of English, provided the final remarks for the online conference. The valedictory speaker, Professor Astrid Ensslin, remarked that the lectures at this event were thematically broad and that the stress on the communal aspect of E-lit was particularly noteworthy.
