October 14, 2020: Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Hyderabad (JNTUH) along with Osmania University, Hyderabad (OU), and Kakatiya University have postponed the Undergraduate and Postgraduate regular and supplementary examination 2020 due to heavy rain in the states.

The official notification released by JNTU, Hyderabad reads, "All the Principles of JNTU constituent and affiliated colleges are informed to note that all the UG and PG regular and supplementary exams of JNTUH scheduled on October 14 and 15 have been postponed due to heavy rains".
The exams for UG and PG students were scheduled to be conducted on October 14 and October 15, 2020, in various affiliated universities of Hyderabad.
As per the notification released by the Controller of Examinations of Osmania University, Hyderabad," All exams under the jurisdiction of Osmania University Scheduled tomorrow and day after tomorrow are postponed due to torrential rains.”
“Examinations from October 16 will be conducted as per the timetable" the notification further read.
A similar notification has also been released by the Kakatiya University confirming the cancellation of the scheduled examination of October 14 and October 15 due to torrential rains.
The Revised dates of the postponed examination will be intimated later by the exam authority of the university. However, there are no changes in the schedule of the other examinations.
The universities will send a mail regarding further updates to respective students of the university.

According to the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), the rain would lead to waterlogging, uprooted trees and electric poles, and traffic congestion in the state.
The IMD has also issued an orange alert in Telangana state for October 14 and October 15.
Hyderabad has faced many heavy spots of rain during rainy seasons due to the deep depression in the Bay of Bengal, which now has crossed the East Godavari.
According to GHMC, the average rainfall of 64.4 mm from 8.30 AM-8 PM has been recorded on October 13, 2020.
The GHMC commissioner, DS Lokesh Kumar requested people living in buildings and sheds to vacate the premises during heavy rainfall.
He stated that the temporary accommodation will be provided by the government to those who don’t have any alternative accommodations available.
