Karnataka University Admission 2022 Begins on July 11 Through Uniform Platform


New Delhi: Karnataka Higher Education Minister CN Ashwanth Narayan has announced that degree colleges will begin their admission process in July 11 through a uniform platform. Students will now be able to apply for any college of their choice by using a single login system. With this, they need not have to visit the colleges physically.

Karnataka University has conducted for the very first time a uniform platform (Unified University and College Management System) for admission to the various colleges. Through a single login system, students can now choose a college of their choice. 

Recently, many students applying for undergraduate courses through online portals in different state universities have raised concerns over the technical glitches in the platform that is hampering their admission process. However, the Education Minister has now clarified that students can start applying from July 11, through the single login interface which has now been cleared of technical snags.

The minister said "the committee headed by Dr.Vasudeva Atre has submitted a report to develop public universities in the state akin to IIMs. It has been intended to bring out an Act based on this report, a copy of which has been uploaded on the higher education department website for the public to review and suggest their views."

The minister further said that the students can now get all the information related to the marks card by entering their PUC registration number. They can also obtain information regarding caste certificates, income certificates, etc can be availed by entering the AADHAAR number while taking admission to Karnataka University

As per the education minister, "the fee has been retained the same as the previous year in 440 First Grade Colleges, 100 Polytechnics, and 14 Engineering colleges. For the first time after independence, it has been allowed to retain the fee collected by colleges in respective bank accounts and this would result in Rs.50 crore accumulation in bank accounts of institutions."
