Kashmir: Online Mode of Examinations Started; Students Find It Satisfactory

In the Kashmir region, colleges and universities have recently conducted exams of mid-semester and ‘backlog’ subjects online.

Largely, students were asked to undertake an MCQ test for each subject or submit assignments.

Moreover, students who had previously failed in a subject have been allowed to appear in the re-exam along with the exams of current subjects.

This facility has made regular as well as backlog students very happy who had the weigh of clearing ‘backlog’ exams.

Students’ Reaction on the Conduct of Exams

The reaction of the students has been very positive about the conduct of the exams. Many students have expressed their joy over the new mode of examination.

“The stress of the backlog subjects was always weighing on my mind. I had no idea that they will be cleared this way,” said Imaad, a student in Srinagar.

A section of students said that clearing backlog subjects would enable them to finish their degrees on time.

“I’d never imagined that I’ll be appearing for my backlog exams in this way. I’ve found this online mode way easier than the routine one, and I’m confident that I’ll pass in all the papers,” Aaqib said.

Similarly, a student of Cluster University Srinagar said that he was lagging behind in four subjects taught in the previous semesters. The student said that he finds the online mode much easier.

The University Grants Commission (UGC) has directed universities to conduct all end-semester exams by September end through any means.
