Kashmir University: Students agitated by Datesheets, demand exams for current semester


Students of Department of Management Studies, University of Kashmir (KU), condemned the decision of the varsity to hold previous semester exams. The university released a datesheet on July 27 that states examinations to be held from August 8.

As students demanded shelving the idea to hold exams for the previous semesters, they expressed utter shock when the university suddenly released date sheets for exams. Students have been constantly preparing for current semester exams and attending online classes regularly.

One of the students reacted, “The biggest and the most important concern for us is that our degrees are already delayed by a year. During these testing times when the University has specifically instructed the departments to ensure no burden on the students and make it easy for them to complete their courses, our department has left no stone unturned to make it more difficult for the students and put unnecessary mental pressure on them.”

Meanwhile, students have sought exams for current semesters only. For backlogs and previous semesters, students expect evaluation based on internal assessment. 

Earlier, Kashmir University suspended classes till July 31, put faculty on Work From HomeThus, despite the unconducive situation, KU administrative work continued with concerned officials communicating over the telephone.
