Kerala University Receives A++ Ranking from NAAC

New Delhi: Kerala University received the highest NAAC rating of A++ with a CGPA of 3.67 on Tuesday, June 21, 2022. According to Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, the university's accreditation is a huge step forward for Kerala's educational sector.

Kerala University currently has the same CGPA as the IISc Bangalore, which is ranked first among universities in the 2021 National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF). As per CM Vijayan, this accomplishment is an inspiration to other universities and educational institutions in the state.

Mr Vijayan in a Facebook post said, "This is the first time a university in the state has received this recognition. This achievement is a result of the schemes implemented by the state government for the growth of the higher education sector. This should inspire other universities and institutions of higher learning to move forward with excellence".

"The University of Kerala has secured the best grade at the all-India level. We heartily salute the University of Kerala community for making Kerala a national leader in the education sector by actively participating in the efforts to improve quality," added Higher Education Minister R Bindu.

The highest rating will not only allow the institution to receive additional funding from central agencies such as RUSA and the Department of Science and Technology but also to enrol a big number of students from outside the state and worldwide.

A curriculum that meets worldwide standards, as well as online and offline teaching-learning and assessment, contributed to the university's success. By implementing a centralised laboratory system based on international standards, the institution was able to significantly increase its research efforts and gain patents. The university also completely developed its fundamental infrastructure, including IT systems, and used cutting-edge technologies in library management and examination administration.
