KLS Collaborates with NLSIU for Department of Justice Project in Odisha; Check Details Here


New Delhi: KIIT Law School (KLS) has collaborated with the National Law School of India University (NLSIU), Bangalore for implementing a two-year project on the “Pan India Legal Literacy and Legal Awareness Programme” in Odisha. 

The department of justice, Ministry of Law and Justice, Government of India has granted the implementation of the two-year project in Odisha. 

The Centre Environmental Law, Education, Research and Advocacy (CEERA) at NLSIU received the grant with an aim to focus on the dissemination of legal literacy in the aspirational districts of six states.

As the Nodal Agency for the state of Odisha, KIIT Law School will be adopting the project's objectives thereof.

The collaboration of KLS and NLSIU, Bangalore aims to disseminate legal literacy on a mass level; create an overall communication strategy including digital/social media platforms; and strategize an effective and sustainable legal awareness campaign.

Further, the collaboration focuses on conceptualising and conducting workshops and legal aid competitions, event coverage and launches related to the programme; and conceptualising and conducting youth connect workshops by planning/ organising events in the colleges/ schools and institutions.

KIIT Law School has appointed Dr Bishwa Kallyan Dash, Assistant Professor (II) as the State Coordinator for Odisha for implementing the project on “Pan India Legal Literacy and Legal Awareness Programme.”

In the presence of Prof. (Dr.) Bhabani Prasad Panda, Director, KLS and Prof. (Dr.) Sairam Bhat, Professor & Coordinator, CEERA, NLSIU, the collaboration agreement was signed.

About KLS & NLSIU Bangalore 

Established in 2007 as a private law school, KIIT School of Law imparts legal education. The school offers integrated courses such as BA-LLB, BBA-LLB, B.Sc.-LLB at the UG level, LLM at the PG level, and also a PhD program in the field of Law. 

KIIT admission to these courses is based on the scores obtained in the KIITEE exam conducted by the institute. KLS is the only law school in the country that offers specialized honours courses.
