Law Minister Ravi Shankar to Inaugurate Jindal Global Law School’s Conference on November 25; Check Details Here


Ravi Sankar, the Law Minister of India is all set to inaugurate the Jindal Global Law School Conference today, i.e. November 25. The Conference will be inaugurated via a virtual meeting on Reimagining and Transforming the Future of Law Schools and Legal Education. 

The conference is being organized by the Jindal Global Law School as a part of a three-day global conference. The global conference will be held from November 25-27. Many other prominent personalities will also be joining the video conference.

The keynote of the ceremony will be delivered by the managing partner of Cyril Amarchand Mangalad, one of India's largest law firms - Mr. Cyril Shroff. 

Jindal Global Law School released a statement highlighting the challenges faced by various law schools around the globe. The institution said that all the law schools around the world had to work quickly to minimize the impact of the pandemic. 

Nearly all the Law Institutes were sandwiched between the double problems of balancing the safety of students and managing the institute. As such, they had to show great resolution and resilience to the stakeholders and the beneficiaries in this unprecedented situation.

The main aim of the conference was to gather together more than 170 leaders from 6 continents and 35+ countries over more than 30 thematic sessions and 2 keynote addresses, as a show of solidarity. This would also provide the institutes an opportunity to reimagine the future of legal education.

Other than the inauguration by the Law Minister, many other notable events were also planned by the institute. This includes a Constitution Day speech by Justice D.Y Chnadrachud, Supreme Court of India on November 26. 

In addition, Justice Gita Mittal, Chief Justice of the High Court of J&K, and Justice UU Lalit of the Supreme Court are also supposed to give a keynote and presidential address on November 27. 

Professor C Raj Kumar, Founding Vice-Chancellor of the Institute said that in the current situation a global conference holds a lot of importance. He further stated that it was up to the invited people to bring forward various means and ways to improve and redefine the landscape of legal education.
