LU Introduces In-house Internship for all Students Under New ‘Karmoday’ Scheme; Check Details Here


New Delhi: Lucknow University has launched a new in-house internship called ‘Karmoday’ for all students to ensure an engaging and supportive environment.

As per the Dean of Students Welfare, Lucknow University, the new initiative called Karmoday has been launched in line with the NEP 2020.

Eligibility

Minimum of 60% marks in the previous exam and 75% Attendance.

In this initiative, students will pursue the internship for a minimum duration of 50 days in an academic session. While the maximum internship duration is one semester. The working hours for all categories of assistants shall be evenly distributed over a period of two months (maximum 2 hours a day).

Further, the students applying for the internship should be enrolled for the regular or self-finance courses of the university and should have passed with a minimum of 60% marks in the previous exam.

It should be noted that only those students who have at least 75% attendance in the previous academic semester or year will be eligible for the internship. The scheme is open for all the students of the university and there will not be any exclusion of students based on family income or being the recipient of any other fellowship or scholarship.

This internship programme is designed on the demand of university students, who are not eligible to apply to the ‘Karmyogi’ scheme. The initiative ‘Karmoday’ is set with an objective to create an environment that builds student capabilities. 

It is an unpaid internship that provides a hands-on approach to learning. It also mixes work ethics and respect for work,” said Professor Poonam Tandon, dean students’ welfare.

Post the completion of the internship, students will be provided with experience certificates that will add value to their resumes.
