LU Postpones Semester Exams Due to Rising COVID Cases, Revised Schedule to Release Soon


New Delhi: Lucknow University has postponed the semester examinations until further notice. The examinations were scheduled to be held between January 15 and 31, 2022. The decision was taken when about 50 students were found to be COVID positive. 

LU has already closed the campus due to an increasing number of COVID 19 cases along with taking the decision to postpone the exams. 

The revised dates of the scheduled examinations will be announced on the official website soon. Candidates are advised to keep on checking the website for any update regarding the examinations

According to an order issued earlier by the state, all the colleges and other educational institutes in Uttar Pradesh were shut for offline classes until January 16, 2022. The scheduled examinations, however, were to be conducted offline. Owing to the surge in COVID, many students are now demanding online examinations

Approximately 13,592 active cases have been recorded by the UP Government and the number is still increasing. As per the information regarding the pandemic, the state is already facing the third wave of COVID. 

Earlier, owing to the COVID situation, Kerala CM Pinarayi Vijayan decided to shut the schools as well. 

Not only Kerala and UP but also many other state Governments have postponed the earlier scheduled examinations due to the pandemic situation. 

Through the official letter, the Odisha Education Ministry directed the Chancellors and Heads of several universities not to conduct any PG or UG Semester examinations up until further notice.

Delhi University has also postponed the Open Book Examination and set the new date on July 10, 2022. The admit card for the GATE 2022 exam has also been postponed by IIT- Kharagpur.
