New Delhi: Lucknow University has invited applications for the Shodh Mela Scholarships for all the eligible research scholars for the academic session 2022-23.
The Shodh Mela Scholarships was rolled out by Lucknow University in 2021, with an aim to boost research and promote enrollment of female students in research and development and to offer special focus on the research and to enhance the participation of the females.
Speaking about the scholarship for this year, Dean of student welfare Professor Poonam Tandon, said that the deadline to submit the application is till June 15, 2022.
She said that the number of students to be selected for the Shodh Mela Scholarships 2022 will be decided by a committee specifically constituted for that purpose, depending upon the number of applications received and the availability of funds.
This is the second phase of the Shodh Medha scholarship programme. Last year, almost 10 students received the scholarship, and are currently working on their research.
Lucknow University Scholarships 2022: Eligibility Criteria
In order to apply for the Shodh Mela Scholarships, the female candidates will be required to meet the requisite eligibility criteria mentioned below.
- Candidates must have qualified NET/NET-LS/GATE exams.
- Candidates must be pursuing a PhD course as a registered student at the University of Lucknow, Lucknow (Main Campus).
- Candidates must not be receiving any financial assistance, including fellowship/scholarship from any other source.
Lucknow University Scholarships 2022: Details
According to the official LU notification, the initial duration of the Shodh Mela scholarship will be for a year, which will be further extended for two more years on an annual basis depending on the recommendation of the respective departmental research committee.
Further, the student’s attendance and research progress must be satisfactory for the continuation of the scholarship.
All the PhD scholars interested in applying for the scholarships can submit an online application online through a google form. The university will not accept the form after June 15, 2022.
At present, the university is currently conducting admissions for its postgraduate courses for the academic session 2022-23. Aspiring candidates can submit the online application form through the official portal, lkouniv.ac.in till June 10, 2022
