Lucknow University Signs MoU with Awoke India to Promote Financial Literacy


New Delhi: Lucknow University has collaborated with MoU with Awoke India Foundation to improve financial literacy among students and provide practical sessions in this field. 

To this end, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed by PK Dwivedi, on behalf of Awoke Foundation and Prof Alak Rai, Vice-Chancellor of Lucknow University.

According to Prof. Rai, “This industry-academia partnership will support our students to understand the basics of entrepreneurship and entering into start-ups.”

Lucknow University’s Counselling and Guidance Cell will provide aid and training on start-ups and entrepreneurial mentoring. AIF will assist the students with internships, seminars and workshops.

Prof. Madhurima Pradhan, Director of LU’s Counselling and Guidance Cell said, “The MoU will help in providing new-age career skills and practices on the ground learning opportunities in the emerging areas of finance thereby enhancing their employability.”

Awoke India Foundation is the brainchild of Founder and president Mr Pravin Kumar Dwivedi who has over 25 years of experience in the financial and banking sector. This civil society organisation focuses on empowering and educating communities on financial training, Investor education, protection & Skill Development. It has organised numerous social campaigns, financial literacy and awareness programs, skill development and entrepreneurship training programs over the years.

Apart from this, Lucknow University has begun in-house internships for students under the Karmoday Scheme. A 50-days internship will be provided to all of its students to ensure an engaging and supportive environment.

Students who wish to apply for the internship should be enrolled in any regular or self-finance courses of the university. They should have secured at least 60% marks in the previous exam.

As per the Dean of Students Welfare, Lucknow University, the new initiative called Karmoday has been launched in line with the NEP 2020.
