Lucknow University gets Copyright Of Its Own Online Learning Portal 'SLATE'


Lucknow University gets a Copyright and trademark of its online learning platform 'SLATE' which is the first time in 100 years of history of LU.

SLATE was developed and introduced to provide a "360 degree online classroom" to the students who were in lockdown due to the COVID 19 lockdown.

The online portal was created with an objective to monetize the innovation and Lucknow University got copyrights for that.

Prof. AK Rai, Vice Chancellor of Lucknow University talked during the online launch of the portal about the 'future of education' on Saturday.

AK Rai stated, "This is for the first time in the 100 years’ history of LU that a copyright has been registered in the name of the institution."

The Vice Chancellor has informed the reporters," LU has decided to go ahead with the hybrid system even after COVID subsides because the content can also be delivered to students in remote areas."

Any other Institute willing to adopt SLATE could do so only after paying a royalty to the Lucknow University, he added.

Other famous personalities such as actor Sonu Wood, Sanjay Gupta (country head, Google India), chef Sanjeev Kapoor, Dr. Shitij Kapur (Melbourne University), Kath Blackham (CEO, Versa Australia), and Praveer Sinha (MD, Tata Power) also spoke on the occasion.
