Madras University: Over 2 Lakh Students to Appear for Exams Starting Today (December 21)


Madras University: University of Madras has begun its part-online semester exams from today i.e. December 21, 2020. Over 2 lakh students are expected to appear for the examinations.

University of Madras is planning to organize examinations partially in online mode. One lakh students with arrears, who have now paid the fees for April/ May 2020 will also appear for the examination.

Duration of the examination is 180 minutes. At the beginning of which affiliated colleges will produce question papers to students via an online platform. 

Immediately after the examination, students will have to email photos of their answer-sheets or send their hard copies to respective colleges via speed post. Rules and regulations of exams may vary from college to college.

One of the University officials reported that they will upload question papers on the University website and the affiliated colleges will have to download from the university website. Principal of Pachaiyappa's College, P. Murugakoothan stated that their college is going to hold the exams for more than 2,000 students. 

He further added that they have appointed a nodal officer for each class individually and they shall share the question papers with students via Whatsapp groups. 

He added that the students will answer their question papers through pen and paper mode and will have to send the answer scripts through speed post to the respective varsity.

S Ramanathan from Asan Memorial College of Arts and Science said that they have asked the students to write a maximum of 40 pages and e-mail the answer scripts on completion. They will save them in CD-Format after the evaluation.
