Manipal Academy of Higher education has collaborated with Phillips to create a non-contact health screening kiosk. The collaboration will also set up AR/VR labs at the former campus of Manipal Academy.
A/R and V/R virtual labs that are being planned to be established in the Manipal Academy of Higher Education will be a platform for the rise of new knowledge in this field.
The non-contact health screening is being designed to assess the health of the patients in a safe manner. COVID-19 safety guidelines are being considered during the preparation of this system.

MAHE and Philips: Aims of the collaboration
The teams are focusing on the areas of development that can be executed in the field of the Health sector. The projects will be designed to bring about efficient changes and health care solutions which will be useful in the present and future health sectors.
Lt General (Dr) Venkatesh, Vice-Chancellor of MAHE said, “We are excited to enhance our partnership with Philips on innovative projects with a major focus on providing novel healthcare solutions at an affordable cost. We are looking forward to co-create some of the healthcare solutions in the near future.”

Another collaboration:
The team of MAHE and Phillips is also going to collaborate with IntelliSpace Precision Medicine Oncology Platform. Through this collaboration, the team will focus on patient-centred precision care in oncology and empower cancer care teams.

MAHE and PHILIPS:
It is not the first time that MAHE and Philips are working as a team. Both of them have wired in collaboration since 2004.
It also commenced a joint P.hD programme in 2014 in which students were encouraged to carry research on a topic related to the health industry. The students carry out the research under the guidance of mentors from MAHE as well as Philip.
