MAHE takes over Srishti, New Medical College to be Established in Jharkhand, Check Details Here


The Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE) has decided to take over the Srishti Institute of Art, Design, and Technology. H. S. Ballal, Pro-chancellor, confirmed the news in an online conference held on November 10, 2020. The institute is all set to establish a fully functional medical college in Jamshedpur city.

The Manipal Academy of Higher Education, which was declared an Institution of Eminence (IoE), recently disclosed its future plans. Srishti Institute of Art, Design, and Technology that was under Bangalore University will now be a part of MAHE, a part of its Bangalore campus at Yelahanka. The Bengaluru campus is most likely to be fully functional by the academic year 2022-23.

Apart from this, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, all universities have been shut for over six months. Narayana Sabhahit, the registrar, informed that students would be permitted back to the campus in a phased manner.

New campus, Medical College

The new campus of the university at Yelahanka campus will include several institutes.

S. Ballal, Pro-chancellor, stated, “Our institution of regenerative medicine which will be located there, we will have Srishti school of design, and also we are looking at building a new engineering college.” 

We are also planning to establish a law college. Also, some centers of excellence which are functioning in Bengaluru will be located there, especially in the fields of management and executive education,” he further added.

Furthermore, the university is also planning to launch its medical college in collaboration with TATA Steel Ltd in Jamshedpur, Jharkhand, from 2021. The newly set up institute will have an intake of 150 students, including 35 seats provided to the Jharkhand Government.
