Mangalore University: Special Exams to be Conducted for 510 Students from Dec 23; Read Details


Mangalore University is all set to conduct a special examination from December 23 to January 8, 2021. Final year students who were unable to appear in the previous exams due to Covid-19 have been provided with another opportunity to take up the exams.

PL Dharma, Registrar (Evaluation), Mangalore University, made an official announcement stating that there will be 7 exam centres at the Sri Lanka High commission office. The colleges which have been set up for exams centres are as follows:

Previously Mangalore University only conducted special examinations of those students who were part of NCC, NSS, sports, or cultural activities. However, an exception has been made this year due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Candidates will be permitted to appear for the special examination only for two types of cases. Firstly, candidates who were infected with Covid-19 and secondly, students who had one of their family members affected will be allowed. 

This is pertaining to the fact that, such students were unable to appear for the exam due to travel restrictions imposed due to COVID 19.

Dharma also said, “One girl from Sri Lanka and a PG student of Mangalagangothri couldn’t return to India to appear for examination due absence of flights. She later approached and appealed to the High Commission and it was permitted to conduct the examination at their office.”
