Manipur University Pre-PhD admission is based on candidates' performance in the admission test followed by a Personal Interview (PI) round.

To seek Manipur University Admission to the Pre-PhD course, a candidate needs to follow certain eligibility norms as follows:

• Candidates who have passed in a Postgraduate course in a relevant discipline with at least 55% marks or above /B grade in the seven-point scale or above (50% marks for SC/ST/OBC (non-creamy layer), differently abled and other categories of candidates as per the decision of the UGC from time to time.
• Candidates who hold an MTech/ME degree in a relevant discipline with at least 6.5 CGPA on a 10-point scale or 60% marks in aggregate from a recognized Institute /University or BTech/BE degree in any relevant discipline with at least 8.5 CGPA or 80% marks in aggregate from a recognized Institute /University with a valid GATE Score.
• The minimum CGPA/Marks shall be relaxed by 0.5 CGPA or 5 marks in the case of reserved categories students.

Manipur University Pre-PhD Admission 2023: Selection Criteria 

Interested candidates need to appear for the Pre-PhD admission selection process. The admission process is mentioned below:

• The selection is based on the entrance exams conducted for the Pre-PhD program. 
• Merit rank list is created on the basis of marks scored in the entrance exam.
• Finally the admissions are given till all seats are admitted and cut-off is attained.

Step 6: Pay the application fee of INR 500 (INR 300 for SC/ST) by Cash /Online Payment /NEFT.
