Maharashtra University of Health Sciences (MUHS) has asked the state government to offer INR 5 lakhs as coronavirus insurance to each student appearing for the final year medical examinations in Maharashtra.

The final year medical exams of MUHS will commence from July 16, 2020.

Ajit Pathak, the controller of Examinations, MUHS wrote a letter to the state government, demanding the insurance for students appearing in offline medical exams in the state.

Dr. Pathak has assured Maharashtra Students Union (MASU) that the decision regarding the examinations will be taken only after assessing the situation. The University has also assured that all the safety measures will be taken care of so that students do not face any difficulty.

The state government has not responded to the letter. Meanwhile, the student union (MASU) has started an online survey to find out difficulties medical students will be facing while appearing for the exams.

Some students have raised the query that they find it tough to travel a distance more than 50 kilometers to appear for offline examinations. While many students fear the infection spread in offline mode.

The University has released the Examination time table, to be conducted from July 16, 2020 to July 27, 2020. The varsity has also uploaded the guidelines to be followed during examinations.
