Mumbai University LLM Exam 2022 Postponed, Revised Schedule Awaited

New Delhi: Mumbai University has postponed its law exam 2022. Earlier, the LLM exam was supposed to be held from May 10, 2022. The revised schedule is yet to be released by the university.

The Minister for Higher and Technical Education, Maharashtra, Uday Samanth had announced on April 25, 2022, that all State University Exams will be held in offline mode only & the varsities should share question paper banks with the students. However, this announcement has left the students from the law department quite confused.

All colleges and universities should conduct exams between June and July 15, 2022, and students should be given at least a two-day break between each exam, along with 30 minutes extra time to attempt their papers, the minister added.

Mumbai University has already clarified that the LLM (semester 1) exams, which were scheduled to start on May 10, 2022, now stand postponed. However, the university has still not released any official information about the new exam schedule.

Similar to the wait for the release of the revised schedule for LLM (Semester 1) exams, students from LLB (semester 4) are awaiting question banks from the varsity as their exams are scheduled to commence on May 18, 2022.

Speaking on this, student rights activist, Sachin Pawar said, “There’s definitely a difference in the announcement of changes and its eventual implementation, especially by MU. Students are already worried about appearing for an offline exam after almost two years of break, such delay and discrepancies in the implementation of the government decisions will take a toll on students." He has even approached the university on behalf of law students with this request.

In the first week of March, MU released a statement that semester 6 exams for traditional courses will be held in online mode, whereas all exams for professional courses and PG exams for all departments will be held offline. However, putting an end to the confusion among universities, Minister Uday Samant clarified that all state university summer 2022 exams will be held in offline mode only.
