Mumbai University has announced its plans to conduct the MU undergraduate and postgraduate exams 2022 via the offline mode.
The UG and PG exam 2022 for regular students will be conducted offline, whereas MU has planned to conduct the backlog (Allowed-To-Keep-Term) exams through the online mode, this year.
Earlier in 2019, the varsity had conducted offline exams for the undergraduate and postgraduate students.
The University released a statement announcing its decision of conducting the exams in the offline mode after a meeting was held between the primary members of the board of the examination of the varsity.
Further, the authorities added that the university will soon release a circular regarding the upcoming examination session.
According to the official MU notification, all the UG and PG exams for commerce, arts and science session 2 (regular) and backlog exams for the same batches will be held via offline mode.
However, the backlog examination (ATKT) for semesters 1, 3 and 5, and semester 4 exams for regular and backlog students will be held in online mode this year, the notification read.
It was highlighted in the notification that offline exams for postgraduate students will include a 50 per cent multiple-choice questions (MCQs) and 50 per cent descriptive type questions.
Regarding the final semester exams for the undergraduate students, the varsity has mentioned it will look at the status of the number of vaccinated students and will wait for the orders from the state government before taking a final decision.
Vinod Patil, director of the board of examination and evaluation (BoEE), MU, said that currently, some parts of state are witnessing rage by the state transport organisation, as a result of which the decision on conducting offline exams for the final year undergraduate students will be declared on or before March 1, 2022.
