Mumbai University Releases New Date for MHT CET, Final Year Exam


Mumbai University has released a revised date for the postponed final year UG/PG exams and MHT CET exam. 

These exams were postponed due to power outages across the Mumbai city on Monday, which disrupted the MU final year exams and MHT CET exams. 

More than 200 city colleges that are affiliated to Mumbai university and 5 MHT CET exam centres were affected due to the power outage. 

Several colleges rescheduled the exam paper while many of the colleges in the city permitted the students to take up the exam by extending the time limit.

For the first time, the Mumbai university final year examinations are being held online as MCQ pattern, due to the exceptional situation of the pandemic.

There were chaos and confusion at the exam centres in the morning session due to the power outage. However, the affected exams were postponed to a new date for the convenience of the students. 

Following the power outage, an official notification was released by the KC College, informing that the undergraduate and postgraduate exams for the final year students have been postponed and rescheduled to October 18, 2020, due to the massive power failure in the city.

While, Rizvi College of Engineering and St Andrew's College have also rescheduled the exam to October 15, 2020 

These postponed exams were rescheduled after the completion of the other exams.

As per the reports, at least 100 arts, science, commerce colleges in 10 clusters, 3 clusters of pharmacy colleges, and all the 10 clusters of engineering colleges had to postpone their scheduled exams. 

However, a total of 18,950 students from 32 centres across the city managed to appear for the examination. 

An official at MU said that only a few of the engineering students were affected, as only ATKT exams were scheduled to be held on Monday. 

The revised dates for the postponed exams will be declared by the colleges, he said. 

A notification was issued by the State's CET Cell, which says that the exams at only five centres across the city have been disrupted during the morning session. 

These exams are likely to be held on or before October 20, 2020, at the same exam centres including three colleges in Thakur Complex, Don Bosco Centre of Learning, and Babasaheb Gawde Institute of Technology. 

Students are advised to keep checking the CET Cell website for the latest schedule of the examination.

The State CET Cell has also directed that if any student who couldn't appear for the afternoon session of the PCM exam will be given a chance to reappear for the exam. 

Hence students are requested to inform the State CET authorities about their concerns over the scheduled PCM exam.
