NID Admissions 2020: Changes in Shortlisting Criteria For B.Des and Graduate Diploma

National Institute of Design (NID) has recently changed shortlisting criteria for its Bachelor of Design (B.Des) and Graduate Diploma Program in Design (GDPD) courses for 2020 admissions.

The Admission Cell of the institute has issued an official notification regarding NID Entrance Examination 2020. The decision has been made in view of the COVID-19 pandemic and subsequent nationwide lockdown.

In these trying times, NID declared calling out for students to attend NID DAT Main exams at its campus would be unsafe.

As a fact, NID DAT Mains 2020 will be conducted online, prior to which students have to upload the portfolios and Statement of Purpose (SOPs) for attending this exam.

Additionally, the Admission Cell of NID has changed the weightage of NID DAT Prelims and Mains Exam for the merit list.

Earlier, weightage for BDes and GDPD courses included 30% from Prelims and 70% from Mains exam. However, post changes, the current weightage criteria is as follows:

Further, NID hasn't shared any dates for the NID DAT Prelims and Mains exam. All the information regarding dates of admit card, exams, uploading samples of creative work and SOPs will be sent over registered email-IDs of the candidates.
