With this approval of Delhi University, the DU-affiliated National Institute of Health and Family Welfare will start the Master's in Public Health program for the upcoming academic session. The institute is permitted to offer up to 20 admissions seats per year to students.

The university will now conduct another meeting with Delhi University Executive Council on April 10, 2023, to get recommendations from the council members. Based on the recommendations of the Inspection Committee, NIHFW will be able to start the course.

Earlier, the DU Inspection Committee evaluated the NIHFW Delhi campus to ensure that the institute has all the facilities to offer the program such as adequate infrastructure, faculty members, laboratories and classrooms among others.
