NIRF Ranking 2021(Released): Top Dental Colleges in India Declared; Check Complete List, Rank, Scores Here


The Education Ministry has officially released the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) Rankings 2021 for the top dental colleges in India. The dental ranking in NIRF 2021 Rankings was introduced for the first time last year considering a specific request from the Dental Council of India.

It is to be noted that a total of 117 dental colleges were ranked in NIRF 2021 under the Dental Colleges Category. Unlike the NIRF 2020 Rankings, Manipal College of Dental Sciences, Udupi has bagged the first rank this year. While the second and third positions are taken by Dr. D. Y. Patil Vidyapeeth, Pune and Saveetha Institute of Medical and Technical Sciences, Chennai.

The authorities have released the NIRF Ranking 2021 for the Top Dental Colleges along with the scores obtained by them upon assessment. In comparison with NIRF 2020 Rankings, there has been a drastic change as Maulana Azad Institute of Dental Sciences, Delhi, which stood as 1st rank in NIRF 2020 rankings jumped to fourth position this year. 

Meanwhile, Dr. D. Y. Patil Vidyapeeth, Pune and Saveetha Institute of Medical and Technical Sciences, Chennai have jumped one spot higher from their last year ranks. In contrast, A. B. S. M. Institute of Dental Sciences and Manipal College of Dental Sciences have seen a drop in their positions as compared to last year’s ranks.

NIRF Ranking 2021: Top 10 Dental Colleges

This year due to the existing COVID 19 pandemic situation, NIRF Ranking 2021 was published online through a live webcast for 11 categories. Around 6000 colleges participated in the HRD Ministry, Government of India approved ranking system. 

NIRF prepared a rank list for 200 Engineering colleges, and among them with a score of 90.19. IIT Madras Ranked 1st among Engineering Category of NIRF Ranking 2021. The institute has successfully placed itself in the primary ranking position for the 6th consecutive year.

While for the “NIRF 2021 Top Architecture Colleges,” IIT Roorkee and NIT Calicut clinched first and second ranks with a score of 82.65 and 76.50 in the NIRF India Rankings 2021. Whereas in the “NIRF 2021 Pharmacy Category,” Jamia Hamdard, New Delhi secured the first position and Panjab University secured the second position in the NIRF Ranking 2021. 

Meanwhile, AIIMS Delhi secured the first spot in Medical Category, the Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER), Chandigarh, and Christian Medical College, Vellore have secured second, and the third rank respectively in NIRF 2021 Rankings.
