NLSIU & TrustBridge to Launch New Research Center in Bangalore

New Delhi: According to the official statement, TrustBridge and the National Law School of India University (NLSIU) are preparing to collaborate to open a new research centre in Bangalore to study the Rule of Law.

As per NLSIU, the new research facility will conduct an in-depth study on the rule of law with the goal of improving the way markets, businesses, and India's economy operates. The center will concentrate on the application of the law in two key areas; the financial markets and government litigation and procurement.

According to a press statement from the university, “This Centre, a five-year-long initiative, will study the rule of law from the perspective of improving the functioning of markets, business and the economy in India. The Centre will be located on the University campus in Bangalore.

“The core objective of this Centre is to promote and further scholarship on questions of rule of law in areas where the better functioning of the rule of law will lead to an improvement in the performance of markets and the economy in general”, it further added.

In order to evaluate the effects on economic outcomes, the centre will also monitor the development of the subsidiary laws and the enforcement procedures in the fields of capital markets, insurance, pensions, banking and bankruptcy.

It will examine the causes of government litigation and suggestions for improving it. The research centre aspires to lay the groundwork for a solid regulatory framework in order to construct a robust economy.

An Advisory Board and an Executive Committee will be in charge of the research centre in Bangalore. It will have a team made up of researchers in the fields of law and economics as well as other support personnel.

While the Executive Board's responsibility is to oversee the Centre's goals, outcome, and impact measurement, find new programmes, raise money, and make staff hires. The Advisory Board will give recommendations on fresh initiatives that match the Center's initiatives with its vision and offer intellectual input on the Center's knowledge-creation initiatives.
