New Delhi: Osmania University Exams 20222 have been postponed due to the COVID-19 situation as per the notice on osmania.ac.in. In addition to that, the hostels will also remain closed till January 16, 2022 considering the sudden spike in COVID-19, Omicron cases. Read on to know the details. 

Osmania University has deferred all exams until further notice. The new dates will be announced on the official website. The postponed exams were originally scheduled between January 8-16, 2022.

To avoid more spreading of Corona, as per the orders from the Telangana Government, the university has taken the decision for deferment.

The news of Osmania University Exams 2022 postponement was announced through an official notice on the website university portal. The examinations were to be conducted for different programmes and subjects. 

Depending on the upcoming COVID situation, the new schedule will be announced later on the official website. 

The authority also took into consideration how the Telangana Government declared holidays for all the educational institutions in the state from January 8-16, 2022. As per this announcement, the university decided to close its hostels to resist any further spreading of Corona and its Omicron variant. 

The university has admitted that its infrastructure will not be able to tackle the situation if a sudden crisis arises due to COVID. Taking into account the lifestyle of hostel students, the university decided that it is only natural for the students to live closely and share their personal belongings and that can further worsen the situation. The closure of the hostels is to resist such risk. 

Telangana government has also extended the holiday list merging that of Sankranthi festival. Thus, all education institutions have been directed to remain closed for a while now, so that maximum people stay home and take necessary safety measures to prevent COVID-19 surge.

Telangana schools and colleges have been closed after the Chief Minister Chandrasekha Rao held an emergency meeting on January 3, 2022, to review the impacts of COVID. Due to the enormous spike in cases, the concerned authority decided to coincide these holidays with the festival of Sankranthi. Moreover, students were advised to remain indoors for safety purposes.

The postponed Osmania University Exam 2022 will take place as per the new dates, to be announced on the main website. With the increasing number of COVID cases in the state, it is most likely that the exams will be delayed further. In the last 24 hours, Telangana recorded more than 2000 fresh COVID cases.
