Prof Harpreet Kaur Appointed as Vice Chancellor of NLU Delhi


New Delhi: With effect from 1 November 2022, Professor (Dr.) Harpreet Kaur will assume the role of Vice Chancellor in charge at National Law University Delhi.

According to the university's official tweet, "With effect from November 1, 2022, Professor (Dr.) Harpreet Kaur will assume the responsibilities of Vice Chancellor In-Charge, it has been announced by NLU Delhi. Under her direction, the university aspires to greater heights. NLU Delhi hopes she succeeds in her new position."

About Dr. Harpreet Kaur: In 2011, she accepted a position as a professor of law at the National Law University of Delhi. At the National Law University of Delhi, she serves as the director of the Centre for Corporate Law and Governance. In 2021, she attended Emory Law School in Atlanta, Georgia, as a Fulbright Nehru Scholar, and in 2016, she attended Miami Dade College in Miami, Florida, as a Fulbright Scholar in Residence.

She held the position of Chair Professor of Indian Studies at Hannover's Leibniz University. She is a Fellow of the 2015 US State Government-sponsored International Visitor Leadership Program on Competition Law.

Dr. Kaur teaches business law, securities law, and antitrust law. At NLU Delhi, she further taught insurance law and international business law. At the Faculty of Law at the University of Bergen in Norway, she co-teaches Comparative Private Law.

Prior to this, she served as a professor and dean at the Graduate School of Management in Greater Noida's Institute for Integrated Learning in Management. For managers from various management education streams, she has created and taught interdisciplinary courses on law, including those on international business laws and the legal ramifications of retail and banking organisations.
