RGUHS affiliated colleges to reopen from December 1, 2020; check details here


As per a recent notification issued by the Karnataka Government, all medical institutes and colleges affiliated to Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences will be reopening on December 1, 2020. 

In accordance with the SOP from the government, colleges affiliated with RGUHS will be reopened next month for Medical, Paramedical, Nursing, Pharmacy, AYUSH, and Dental courses.  

Karnataka’s Minister of Health and Family Welfare and Medical Education, Dr. Sudhakar K has announced through a Tweet about the reopening of colleges. His stated the following: 

“Karnataka Government has decided to reopen all the medical, dental, AYUSH, paramedical, nursing, and pharmacy colleges affiliated to RGUHS from 1st December. I request the administration of colleges & students 2 strictly adhere to the guidelines issued by the government.”

The governing councils of the colleges have been advised to function in accordance and compliance with the guidelines issued by the government. 

Following guidelines released by UGS, the department of higher education has issued SOPs for high education institutions.  

As per Deputy Chief Minister Dr. CN Ashwatha Narayana, final year students will be attending classes as mentioned in the SOPs issued separately. Meanwhile first and second-year students will also be attending classes as per guidelines issued specifically for them. 

The SOPs issued by the government entails several protocols and guidelines to be followed. These include the implementation of social distancing norms, wearing masks at all times and maintaining personal hygiene.
