SIIC, IIT Kanpur’s Startups Shortlisted for Future Tech Accelerator Program

New Delhi: Eight startups incubated in Startup Incubation and Innovation Centre (SIIC), a business incubator run by the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Kanpur has been shortlisted as the initial batch to participate in the future tech accelerator program.

On January 16, 2023, at IIT Kanpur's outreach centre in Noida, the Indian Angel Network (IAN) and IIT Kanpur joined hands to launch the "IAN-IIT Kanpur future tech accelerator program”. The shortlisted startups of the institute will join the first session of this program.

The future tech accelerator program was introduced on National Startup Day in 2023 with the goal of assisting local companies in implementing their technology innovations and becoming industry-ready.

The eight shortlisted startups of SIIC, IIT Kanpur who will join the first batch are Yantram Medtech, Arthavedika Tech, ProPlant, Workers Union Support, Secure Blink, Starwinglobal Era, Arishti Info Labs, and Cyber Nexa. 

Over the duration of four to six months, participants in this accelerator program will have access to one-on-one coaching, investor and business connections, and help fine-tune pitch decks for successful fundraising.

IAN Fund Managing Partner, Rajnish Kapur shared that with the aid of this program, companies will be more capable of comprehending their consumer base, better defining their product, engaging investors with their stories, and ultimately funding up to INR 30 crores. 

The collaboration between IIT Kanpur and IAN combines together the expertise of one of India's leading technical institutions with the skills and assets of one of the most productive angel investment networks in the nation.

Through this partnership, companies will have access to cutting-edge technology, contacts in the business world, and guidance from seasoned businesspeople and financiers. The accelerator will engage with eight companies in the first cohort.

Nikhil Agarwal, CEO of AIIDE-CoE, congratulated the firms chosen for the program and said: "I wish to express my sincere congratulations to the selected cohort of eight extraordinary startups under the "IAN-IIT Kanpur Accelerator Program." 

He continued, “Their experience with the Indian Angel Network and IIT Kanpur, two of the top startup ecosystems in India, will be facilitated by the structured curriculum. I think the startups will benefit much from this experience.” 

“I have big dreams for these startups. Such partnerships can significantly alter Indian startups by assisting them on their path to becoming successful business models,” He stated.
