Solapur University: Students Reported Technical Issue on the First Day of Examination


PunyaSholka Ahilyadevi Holkar Solapur University’s final year examinations were scheduled to commence from October 5, 2020.

However, on the second day of the examination, the server crashed due to a virus attack on the online portal.

Shrenik Shah, Incharge of the board of examination and evaluation, Solapur University, informed that the examinations have been rescheduled to a new date starting from October 21- October 23, 2020.

However, exams which are scheduled for October 9, will happen as per the time-table.

University is conducting the examination via online and offline mode as well amid pandemic.

The first day went well for both modes of examination.On the second day of the examination, the online exam was interrupted by a virus attack on the online portal.

The students were given 50 MCQ type questions to be completed in 90 minutes.

When the students clicked on the link provided by the university, the screen remained blank.

The students reported the problem right away.

Those who have missed the examination due to the technical issue have demanded to conduct the examination again.

Students are also concerned about the result of the examination.

A total of 1,561 students out of 6000 successfully appeared for the examination.

The University has informed that the remaining students will appear for the examination on October 21, 2020.

However, Shrenik Shah informed that 70% of the students have completed the examination smoothly on Monday.

He further added the problem arose due to an increase in load on the server.

Therefore management has decided to conduct the examination from 3 pm to 9 pm.

Considering the extended time, students will be able to complete the examination on time.

The Nationalist Kishore Congress and the Nationalist Student Congress decided to provide the smartphone to the final year students.

Smartphones were provided to needy students to complete their examinations.

However, the university has also offered to conduct an offline examination for students who do not have smartphones.
