SPPU: Oral, Practical Exams of Senior Colleges to be Held After Classes Starts Offline, Read Details Here


Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU) has recently directed all affiliated colleges to hold oral or practical exams after the offline classes begin.

SPPU is planning to commence offline classes by the first or second week of January and has instructed all colleges to conduct the oral and practical exams once the college reopens.

The exam department of SPPU has released instructions to all its affiliated colleges on December 22, 2020, stating that colleges must hold both the semester practical and oral examinations of students in offline mode. These instructions related to oral and practical exams will be applicable for colleges affiliated to SPPU in Nashik and Ahmednagar.

Exam director, Mahesh Kakade, revealed that the colleges have not been able to hold academic activities related to practicals because of the ongoing COVID-19 Pandemic. 

He stated, “Students have not been able to use the laboratories or other related workshops or training units that required the student to be present in person. As a result, students will be able to train, use laboratories and give exams once the college resumes offline classes.

Additionally, all colleges have been informed that the practical, orals, seminars, projects, seminars for both the semesters of 2020-21 academic year should be held during the term-end exams which will take place in March/April 2021. 

Students should note that no changes should be made in the online exam form related to these exams and should fill them following the regular practice for written and oral exams. The same instructions will be valid for new admission students.

Apart from this, students will get the results of the semester exams this year conducted online for the 2020 semester. However, the combined results of both semesters will be announced with the marks of the orals and practicals for both semesters after the March / April 2021 examination. 

Kakade added, "Students without backlog will have to undergo the practical and oral examinations as per the present practices which will be decided and conducted by their respective colleges. Their results will also be declared immediately after the written examination.”
