SPPU to Start Certificate Course in Spoken Sanskrit via Online and Offline Mode; Details Here


The Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU) has decided to start a certificate course in Spoken Sanskrit language through online and offline mode. 

SPPU signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Shri Sadguru group on October 8, to offer a certificate course in the Sanskrit language that aims to assist students learn the Sanskrit language and enhance their communication. 

While signing the MoU, Professor Dr. Nitin Karmalkar, Vice-Chancellor, SPPU, said that candidates interested in the certificate course of Spoken Sanskrit can apply by visiting the official SPPU website.

According to HT reports, Prof Karmalkar said that SPPU has full-time Sanskrit courses but it's not applicable for the working professionals. As a result, the university has decided to start the certificate course that will guide the students to enhance dialogues in the Sanskrit language. 

The Memorandum of understanding (MoU) took place in the presence of key authorities from SPPU including Prof Karmalkar, Pro-vice-chancellor of SPPU Dr N S Umrani; Head of Sanskrit and Prakrit department Devnath Tripathi; Director of Innovation, Incubation and Linkages Dr Apoorva Palkar; Management council members Rajesh Pandey, Prasenjit Fadnavis, Dr Sanjay Chakane and Dr Ravindra Mule; Founder-president of Shri Sadguru group, Yashwant Kulkarni and Group members Atul Bhagre, Bharat Jagtap and Ghate guruji. 

The founder-president of Shri Sadguru Group, Yashwant Kulkarni said that a total of 800 ‘Gurujis’ are affiliated with the organisation, who are all interested in studying Sanskrit and speaking the language. 

However, it is not possible for them to study full-time Sanskrit language courses, so they're keen on learning Sanskrit through this certificate course, Kulkarni said.
