Tata Institute of Social Sciences Extend Registration Deadline for Personal Interview

The last date to register for the online personal interview at Tata Institute of Social Sciences has been extended to 3 June 2020. The registration was due to end at 23:59 hours on 2 June but has been extended by another 24 hours to allow more participants.

Earlier, the Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS) had released a revised timetable for TISSNET Counselling, having been delayed due to the coronavirus pandemic. The institute has also cancelled the Pre-Interview Test for the year, deciding only to conduct personal interviews by means of video conferencing. Candidates who have already attended the Pre-Interview Test and personal interview need not register for the online interview.

Personal Interview Registration Process

To apply for the personal interview, follow these steps:

  • Visit the official website of TISS
  • Go to the admission page
  • Enter your login credentials
  • Register with the required details
  • Check the campus-wise interview slot availability
  • Pick a slot
  • Confirm, then submit

The university will send a link to the candidate’s email address, which will be activated when the interview takes place.

The interviews will take place from 8 to 17 June in Mumbai, Tuljapur and Hyderabad, and from 29 June to 4 July in Guwahati. The first merit list will be declared on 20 July. The new academic session will begin on 3 August.

Due to the lockdown, TISS has restructured the selection process. Candidates need not travel to the campuses for completing the admission process. It can be completed online.

Candidates will be shortlisted based on their performance in the TISSNET 2020. Those who wish to study the HRM and ODCL programmes have to take an additional test, which is the TISSMAT.

The shortlisted candidates have to take the personal interview, which will be conducted by video conferencing. During this round, the candidate will be assessed on the basis of their interpersonal skills, understanding of the programme and academic records.

For HRM and ODCL, 40% weightage will be given to TISSNET, 20% weightage to TISSMAT, and 40% to the interview. For other programmes, 60% weightage will be given to TISSNET and 40% weightage to the personal interview.
