New Delhi: Thapar University has begun the application process for Undergraduate (UG), Postgraduate (PG) and PhD programs for the academic session 2023-24. Aspiring candidates can submit the online application form through the official portal at www.thapar.edu.

Thapar University offers a variety of undergraduate, postgraduate and PhD degree courses in Engineering, Management, Science, and Liberal Arts discipline. Candidates seeking admission to these programs can submit their applications on the official university website on or before the given deadline (yet to be announced by the university).

Admission to all the courses is done based on both entrance and merit-based. The university admits students to its various program based on JEE Main/ NEET/ CAT GATE/ CAT/ MAT/ XAT/ NMAT/ CMAT/ GMAT scores. Candidates without national-level scores are given admission based on either merits or entrance test conducted by the university.

Thapar University Admission 2023: Eligibility Criteria and Selection Process

Candidates seeking admission to the UG and PG courses will have to meet the requisite eligibility criteria and the respective selection process.

BE/B.Tech	Candidates must have secured 60% aggregate marks in Class 12, with a valid score in JEE Main exam.	Candidate's selection to the BE/ B.Tech programme through JEE Main Class 12 merits, and highest scores in Class 12 boards.
UG Courses	For BA, BSc, and BBA: Candidates must have a minimum eligibility of class 10+2 qualification with 60% aggregate marks in any three subjects (One of the subjects must be English). OR 3-year Diploma after 10th.	Selection criteria for BA, BSc, and BBA program involves 3 steps: Step 1: 50% Weightage: Online test which consists of an Aptitude Test Letter of Motivation/ Statement of Purpose, and grade 10 marks card. Step 2: 50% Weightage: Personal Interaction Step 3: Admission Decision
ME/M.Tech	Candidates must have qualified BTech/ BE in a relevant discipline with 60% marks in aggregate. Candidates with MSc degree are also eligible to apply. Candidates must have a valid GATE scores.	Candidate's selection will be based on GATE exam scores. The institute allows direct admission to candidates who apply without GATE scores. Direct admission is given based on Class 12 and BTech scores. The institute gives 30% weightage to Class 12 marks and 70% weightage to BTech marks in this situation. However, candidates applying with a valid GATE score are given preference
MSc	Candidate must have acquired BS/BSc degree with 60% aggregate marks to get admission to the program.	Candidates' selection to the MSc program is done based on merits in the qualifying degree. 40% weightage is given to Class 12 marks and 60% weightage is given to Graduation mark
MCA	Candidates must have scored 60% aggregate marks in Graduation. Mathematics must be studied in Class 12 or Graduation.	Candidate's selection criteria for the MCA program will be done based merit obtained in Class 10, 12, and Graduation. The minimum marks required for admission is 65%.
MA	Candidates must hold Bachelor's degree in Psychology (Hons) or Arts/ Science/ Allied Sciences such as Home Sciences/ Nursing/Human Development OR B.Tech of minimum 3-years duration with 50% marks (45% for SC/ST) in aggregate and Psychology as one of the subjects at graduation level.	Candidate's selection to the MA program is made on the combining percentage of Class 12 and Graduation (aggregate marks upto end of second year/four semesters will be considered).
PhD	Candidates need to have a Master's Degree (ME/MTech/MBA/MCA/MSc/MCom or Equivalent) with 60% marks from a recognised university.	Candidate's selection will be based on marks secured in the entrance exam (GATE/GPAT/NET (UGC/CSIR)) and interview conducted by the institute.
